In Morocco, the Commercial Code requires certain companies to appoint a statutory auditor in charge of reviewing the annual accounts. Public limited companies (SA) and limited liability companies (SARL) exceeding certain thresholds are subject to this obligation.
These legal entities must keep accounts and present financial statements in accordance with the Moroccan Commercial Code and the General Accounting Standardization Code (CGNC). They may also keep their accounts under recognized accounting standards such as IFRS.
